Yuxi Xianfu Steel to expand the production of HR strip

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 22 Mar 23 - As the major producer of HR strip in Yuxi, Yunnan province, Yunnan Yuxi Xianfu Iron and Steel Co. (Yuxi Xianfu Steel) would increase the output from about 130,000t last month to around 150,000t this month.
"We would expand the production of HR strip by about 20,000t MoM to around 150,000t this month due to increased orders," said a source of the company. Besides, they hold a stockpile of about 15,000t in hand at present, down from around 20,000t one month ago.
With one HR strip production line of 1,050mm rolling mill, Yuxi Xianfu Steel produces HR strip with the width of 710-950mm and thickness of 2.0-12.0mm. Based on the annual production capacity of about 2.2 million tonnes, it recorded an output of about 1.1 million tonnes of HR strip last year and produced around 240,000t in the first two months of 2023.
The mainstream prices of HR strip Q235 710mm*3.5mm*C from Yuxi Xianfu Steel remained at about RMB4,430/t (USD644/t) D/P in warehouse Kunming on Tuesday, the same as those on Monday. Insiders predict that Chinese HR strip prices might decrease in the coming week on soft demand.
