Senze Coal & Aluminum restarts normal alumina production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Mar 23 - Liulin Senze Coal & Aluminum Co., a major alumina producer in Shanxi of China, restarted normal operation from early March and might produce 120,000t this month, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We restarted normal operation from early this month and might produce 120,000t in March," said the source, who produced around 90,000t last month for the unexpected equipment maintenance. Focusing on long term contracts, they hold no stock now.
With two production lines and the total production capacity of 1.6 million tonnes per year, they produced over 1.3 million tonnes in 2022 and around 300,000t so far this year.
Current prevailing prices for alumina 98.5%min in north China remain at RMB2,920-2,960/t (USD425-430/t) EXW, stable from late last week. Alumina producers from Guangxi started sales to north China from last week and the supply will increase.
