Huali Zinc Industry to increase zinc oxide production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Mar 23 - Yangzhou Huali Zinc Industry Co., one of major zinc oxide producers in East China, would produce about 1,000t of zinc oxide in March, higher than about 600t in February.
"In March, the demand for zinc oxide market is gradually recovering, and we operate three sets of zinc oxide production equipment, while only two sets of zinc oxide production equipment were operated in February. We expect to produce about 1,000t of zinc oxide in March, higher than about 600t in February", a source from the company mentioned. He also stated that with zinc ingot 99.995%min that purchased from East China market, they mainly produce zinc oxide 99.7%min and sell to consumers in surrounding areas.
The company, with an annual production capacity of 30,000t of zinc oxide and five sets of production equipment, saw an output of 10,400t or so in 2022. It produced about 600t in February and expects to produce about 1,000t in March, holding about 100t of zinc oxide stocks now.
The mainstream prices of Chinese zinc oxide 99.7%min produced by zinc ingot 99.995%min stood at RMB20,400-21,200/t (USD2,957-3,073/t) EXW on Thursday, down by RMB300/t (USD43.49/t) from Wednesday. Dragged by the continuous decline of zinc ingot prices, insiders predict that prices of Chinese zinc oxide would go down in the coming week.
