Tronox's zircon sand export prices to China for Q2 stable against Q1

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Mar 23 - As one of the major international zircon sand suppliers in China, Tronox claimed on Thursday that they will hold prices of zircon sand 66%min to China for Q2 the same as Q1, disclosed the source from the company.
"Our supply from Australia and South Africa keeps tightening in 2023, while the demand from Chinese zirconium silicate plants remain unrecovered, so we decided to keeps the same prices for Q2 against Q1, and the Australian zircon sand 66%min hovers at around USD2,315/t CIF China, unchanged from Q1 and the South African zircon sand 66%min hits about USD2,275//t CIF China, in line with Q1," confirmed the source on Thursday.
As one of the largest zircon sand international suppliers in China, Tronox holds the annual production capacity of zircon sand around 50,000t in Australia and 150,000t in South Africa respectively. They export around 70% of the whole output in Australia and South Africa to China annually.
The current mainstream import prices of Australian and South African zircon sand 66%min in China hover at USD2,270-2,320/t CIF China, in line with late last week.
