A trader in Southern China disclosed that they offer RMB55,000/t (USD3.63/lb) EXW D/P for bismuth ingot 99.99%min at present and refuse to lower the price even for firm bids as they only hold around 10t of stocks now, while they still could accept RMB51,500/t (USD3.40/lb) EXW D/P early last week, when they sold around 100t totally at RMB51,500/t (USD3.40/lb) EXW D/P . They tend to move up the prices further in rest days of this week as most producers also hold back from selling . The source said, "Traders generally build stocks actively and we forecast that the prevailing prices of Chinese bismuth ingot 99 . 99%min would show an uptrend in the following week."
The trader, based on a regular monthly trading volume of 50t of bismuth ingot 99.99%min, expects to sell 180t this month and sold about 65t in February . They hold around 10t of stocks now, down by about 20t from late last month . They sold around 600t in 2022 and around 400t so far in 2023.
A producer in Northern China stated that they increased the price of bismuth ingot 99.99%min to RMB57,000/t (USD3.76/lb) EXW D/P at present and could not accept any lower price even for firm bids. However, they still insisted on RMB56,000/t (USD3.69/lb) EXW D/P this Monday and last sold around 175t at this price this Monday . The source said, "We have to do some trading business since last week as our output keeps not enough for selling . " They are of the opinion that the mainstream prices of Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min would go to RMB60,000/t (USD3.96/lb) EXW D/P in the upcoming week due to limited stocks from producers but strong demand from traders.
The producer, with a production capacity 4,800tpy of bismuth ingot 99.99%min, holds no stock presently, unchanged from the end of last month . They expect to produce around 100t, almost the same as February . They produced about 1,870t in 2022 and around 300t in the past two months in 2023.
