Taojiang Jiutong Antimony Industry resumes antimony ingot production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Mar 23 - Taojiang Jiutong Antimony Industry Co., Ltd., a major antimony ingot producer in Hunan, started the blast furnace of its smelting plant from late last week and resumes antimony ingot production this week, a source from the company revealed to Asian Metal.
The source said, "We resumed the mining of Banxi antimony ores from mid-February and then formally started the blast furnace of our smelting plant last Friday. We start ore-feeding this week and expect to see the first batch of antimony ingot come off the production line at the end of March." The company mined of 73.58 metal tons of Banxi antimony ores and completed the dressing of 68.54 metal tons of the material in February, planning to produce about 100t of antimony ingot in March.
With an annual production capacity of 5,000t of antimony ingot 99.85%min, the company produced about 3,388t of the material in 2022 and plans to produce about 100t this month, in comparison to zero output last month. It holds no antimony ingot spot stocks at the moment, unchanged MOM. In addition, it totally completed the dressing of 3,728.8 metal tons of Banxi antimony ores in 2022.
Mainstream prices of antimony ingot 99.85%min in Hunan stand at RB84,500-85,500/t (USD12,301-12,447/t) EXW D/P currently, slightly down by RMB500/t (USD72.79/t) from late last week. Owing to tight supply of raw material on the whole, the domestic antimony ingot spot market sees insufficient supply, but demand in the terminal market is sluggish as end users are cautious about refilling stocks, so insiders predict that mainstream prices of Chinese antimony ingot 99.85%min would come into a stalemate state in the coming week.
