Rising Star Nature Minerals to start bauxite production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Mar 23 - Rising Star Nature Minerals Sdn Bhd, a Kuantan-based bauxite producer in Malaysia, is scheduled to start operation from the middle of March and plans to produce around 50,000t till late April, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We would restart operation from the middle of this month and would produce around 50,000t till late next month," said the source, who might produce over 10,000t in March and holds no stock now. They once shut down operation from early this year for the rainy season.
With the production capacity of 400,000tpy, they produced around 20,000t in 2022 and export to China, focusing on washed bauxite Al2O3 46%min SiO2 5%max.
Current mainstream offers for imported bauxite Al2O3 47%min ReSiO2 5%max keep at USD64.5-66.5/dt CIF China, down by USD0.5/dt from late last week . After the rainy season, bauxite producers from Malaysia would increase production.
