Hengxing Manganese stops HC ferromanganese production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Mar 23 - As one of the major Chinese producers of ferromanganese Mn 75%min, C 8% max, P 0.2% max, S 0.03% max, Qinzhou Hengxing Manganese Co. stops their production this month, a source from the company revealed to Asian Metal.
The source mentioned, "We stopped our production of ferromanganese Mn 75%min, C 8% max, P 0.2% max, S 0.03% max at the beginning of March due to the maintenance of equipment and intends to resume the production next month". The producer could normally produce about 5,000t each month and produced around 5,000t in February. They hold 2 furnaces of 22,500kVA at the moment.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 80,000t of HC ferromanganese, stopped their production early this month and predicts to resume production in early April. They currently hold about 5,000t of stocks.
On Wednesday, the prevailing prices of ferromanganese Mn 75%min, C 8% max, P 0.2% max, S 0.03% max in China stands at RMB7,650-7,850/t (USD1,098-1,127/t) EXW D/P, down by RMB100/t (USD14/t) from early this week. As the market still stays in the low position, insiders believe that the mainstream prices of Chinese HC ferromanganese would edge down in the following days.
