Chifeng Dajingzi decreases tin ingot production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 9 Mar 23 - Due to tight supply and equipment maintenance, Chifeng Dajingzi Tin Co., Ltd., one of major tin ingot 99.95%min producers in North China, would decline the production by 25% to bout 300t this month.
"We would decrease the output to around 300t this month, down by about 100t from last month," the source from the company noted. Their supplier reduced production this month and two furnaces halted for a week for maintenance, resulting in reduced production. They would probably produce about 400t next month.
Based on an annual production capacity of 8,000t for tin ingot, the company owns a Cu-Ag mine, and tin ore is its by-products, with a monthly output of about 40 metal tons. They mainly purchases tin concentrate 40%min from local mine to produce tin ingot 99.95%min. They own three furnaces of 1,250kVA. They produced about 3,400t of tin ingot in 2022 and about 800t so far this year, holding no inventory currently.
On Thursday, the mainstream prices of tin ingot 99.95%min stand at RMB197,000-199,000/t (USD28,408-28,696/t) EXW down in North China, down by around RMB1,000/t (USD144/t) from yesterday. Discouraged by weak market demand, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese tin ingot would go down slightly as following days.
