Shenmu Lifeng to resume ferrosilicon production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Mar 23 - As one of major ferrosilicon 72%min producers in China, Shenmu Lifeng Chemical Co.,Ltd. would resume ferrosilicon production on 10 Mar and the output in March would reach to around 1,500t in March, disclosed a source from the company.
"We would resume the operation one 22,500kVA furnace to produce ferrosilicon 72%min on 10 March after maintenance and the output would reach to nearly 1,500t this month", the source revealed, adding that they suspended production since mid last December due to inactive market. They would resume the operation of rest one 22,500kVA furnace from early April.
Based on the annual production capacity of 55,000t and two furnaces, the producer holds no inventory at the moment.
In consideration of inactive market and high raw material prices, most producers held their prices unchanged. Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 72%min 10-50mm stand firm at RMB7,800-8,000/t (1,124-1,153/t) EXW D/P from early this week. Insiders hold the view that the mainstream prices of Chinese ferrosilicon 72%min would stay flat within this week given inactive market and high raw material prices.
