Bangka Timah Makmur to build a new tin ingot smelter

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 8 Mar 23 - Bangka Timah Makmur, one of major tin ingot 99.95%min producers in Indonesia, would build a new tin ingot smelter and expected to be completed in September this year, the source from the company to Asian Metal.
"We decided to build a new tin ingot smelter with annual production capacity of 10,000t and the monthly production would increase from 150t now to around 600t when completed in September", a source from the company disclosed. They added that they would produce about 150t this month, in line with last month, holding no inventory in hand now.
They totally produced about 2,000t in 2022 and three electric arc furnaces would be added to the new smelter. Meanwhile, the electric arc furnace workers they employed are professionals from China. They mainly sell their products to local clients.
On Thursday, the mainstream prices for tin ingot 99.95%min stood at RMB243,000-244,000/t EWX 100% down in Indonesia, down by RMB250/t from yesterday. Boosted by active purchases from downstream clients, insiders predict the prices of Indonesian tin ingot would go up this week.
