Qingzhou Nuodiwei restarts to produce cast iron

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 7 Mar 23 - As one major producer of cast iron in Shandong, Qingzhou Nuodiwei Foundry Co. (Qingzhou Nuodiwei) resumed cast iron production on February 25 and its output reached about 500tpd.
"After the suspension for around three months, we resumed cast iron production about ten days ago," said a source from the company, adding that the demand from foundries is expected to pick up gradually in Q2 of this year. It planned to produce about 12,000t of cast iron in March.
The company owns an annual production capacity of 200,000t for iron and it recorded an output of roughly 60,000t of cast iron in 2022. It does not have stock at present.
On Monday, the price of cast iron Z18 from the company stood at around RMB3,850/t (USD556/t) EXW D/P, in line with late last week. Upon weakening prices of raw materials but low stocks, prices of cast iron would remain stable in coming two days.
