7. Supply and Demand Outlook

7.1 Black silicon carbide

Due to the increased electricity charge, the production cost would keep firm in 2023. Besides, most producers in Gansu resumed production in late 2022 after to the environmental protectional upgrading. Therefore, the market supply would increase by around 20% YoY in 2023

The producers in Sichuan could not resume production until early April, but producers in Xinjiang would keep stable operation rate and the market supply would remain unchanged from last year. On the other hand, the coke prices would move up further due to the tight supply in Xinjiang.
