Shandong Chuangxin Carbon commissions phase two of 1.88Mtpy carbon materials project

On January 17, Shandong Chuangxin Carbon Co., Ltd. held the commissioning ceremony for the second phase of its 1.88Mtpy carbon materials project at Binzhou Beihai Economic Development Zone. The second phase came after the first phase with capacity of 600,000tpy of prebaked anode used for aluminum smelting, and the project will have an annual capacity of 940,000t of prebaked anode upon completion and is expected to become the largest prebaked anode plant in China. In addition, the second phase will also be able to produce 300,000tpy of calcined pet coke, which can be used in the production of lithium battery anode material as well as for export through Binzhou Port.
