12-inch wafer mass production line project breaks ground in Guangzhou

On December 14, a ground-breaking ceremony for major projects in the fourth quarter of 2022 and core-increasing projects was held in Zengcheng District, Guangzhou City. The 12-inch core-increasing intelligent sensor and characteristic wafer mass production line project, which was launched on site, will develop the leading 12-inch MEMS manufacturing production line in China.
The project, initiated by Guangzhou Intelligent Sensor Industrial Group with an approved investment of RMB7 billion (USD1.01 billion), will build a 12-inch wafer manufacturing production line of 20,000 pieces per month. The project, which broke ground in December 2022, is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2024 and reach full production capacity by the end of 2025.
