NEA: Over 62 million tons annual coal production capacity added in 2022

At the fourth-quarter online press conference held by China's National Energy Administration (NEA) on November 14, Dong Wancheng, deputy director of the development planning division expressed that, in the first three quarters of 2022, the average daily output of China's raw coal remained above 12 million tons, up by 11.2% year on year. Since September, the amount of the coal stored in unified management plants stayed above 170 million tons.
From January to September, coal output of enterprises above designated size recorded 3.32 billion tons, up by 11.2% year on year. In view of key producing areas, Shanxi-Shaanxi-Inner Mongolia-Xinjiang's coal production accounted for 80.9% of the country's total. In the period, 14 coal mine projects (including adjusted construction scale) were approved with an additional capacity of over 62 million tons/year, and about 90 million tons/year of coal mine production capacity was promoted to enter into joint trial operation and pilot production.
