Global crude steel production rose by 3
In September, China produced 87 million tonnes of crude steel, up by 17.6% YoY, and India produced 9 . 9 million tonnes, up by 1 . 8% YoY . Crude steel production in Japan and U . S . decreased by 12 . 3% and 7 . 5% YoY respectively to 7 . 1 million tonnes and 6 . 6 million tonnes for the month.
Russia's crude steel output is estimated to decrease by 6.8% YoY to 5 . 7 million tonnes in September, and that in South Korea is estimated at 4 . 6 million tonnes, down by 15 . 4% YoY . Germany produced 2 . 8 million tonnes in September, a decrease of 15 . 4% year on year.
In September, Turkey and Brazil both produced 2.7 million tonnes of crude steel, down by 19 . 4% and 11 . 7% YoY respectively, while Iran's production increased by 26 . 7% YoY to 2 . 7 million tonnes.
