WBMS: Primary aluminum market in deficit of 797000t in Jan-Aug

According to the data released by WBMS on October 19, the calculated market balance for primary aluminum for January to August 2022 was a deficit of 797,000t which follows a deficit of about 1.6 million tonnes recorded for the whole of 2021.
Demand for primary aluminum for January to August 2022 was 45.99 million tonnes, down by 349,000t from the same period of 2021.
Production in January to August 2022 decreased by 12,000t compared with the same period last year. China's output is estimated to have a year-on-year increase of 1.5%.
In August, global primary aluminum production recorded about 5.83 million tonnes, and the demand for the material recorded about 5.81 million tonnes.
