Guangdong: Proportion of non-fossil energy in total energy consumption to reach 32% by 2025

On September 16, government of Guangdong province publicized the Fourteenth Five-year Emission Reduction Implementation Plan of Guangdong. According to the Plan, by 2025 the province's energy consumption per unit gross regional production will drop by 14.0% from that in 2020, and emission reduction in chemical oxygen demand (COD), ammonia nitrogen, oxynitride and volatile organic compound (VOC) industries will respectively reach 197,300t, 9,800t, 73,800t and 49,900t. By 2025, the proportion of non-fossil energy in total energy consumption will reach around 32%. By the end of 2022, seven long-flowsheet iron & steel companies in Guangdong will complete their technical reform according to requirements on ultra-low emission; by 2025, all steel companies in Guangdong should complete technical reform in line with requirements on ultra-low emissions.
