U.S. thermal coal exports down by 8% YoY in Jul

Latest data from the United States Census Bureau indicated that U.S. exported 2.6 million tons of thermal coal in July 2022, a decrease of 8% and 5.5% year-on-year and month-on-month respectively.
In July, the country's bituminous coal exports were 2.2 million tons, up by 3.5% year on year and down by 14% month on month; the sub-bituminous coal exported were 231,700 tons, decreasing by 61.8% year on year and increasing by 74.9% month on month.
The metallurgical coal exported in the month recorded 3.5 million tonnes, rising by 7.6% year on year while declining by 16% month on month.
