Jilin Xinda Steel to replace 1.15Mtpy steelmaking capacity

The steel-making capacity replacement scheme (Phase I) proposed by Jilin Xinda Steel Co., Ltd. was recently released by the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jilin Province and it will be made public from August 29 to September 23, 2022.
According to the scheme, the company plans to build a new rotating furnace with capacity of 1.15Mtpy to replace two existing rotating furnaces to be shut down, with combined capacity of 1.27Mtpy, at the ratio of 1.1 to 1. Construction of the new furnace is scheduled to commence in December 2022 and production is expected in June 2024.
