China announces 2022 second-batch rare earth mining and smelting/separation quotas

On August 17, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) issued a notice on 2022 second-batch national total quotas on rare earth mining and smelting/separation. According to the notice, the 2022 second-batch rare earth mining quota and smelting/separation quota is 109,200t and 104,800t respectively (not including 2022 first-batch quotas already announced). The 2022 two batches of rare earth quotas already announced in relation to mining and smelting/separation total 210,000t and 202,000t respectively.
