Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel to replace 700ktpa steelmaking capacity

In accordance with relevant guidelines and implementation measures issued by the State Council, the formal capacity replacement scheme of Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. was made public by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shanxi.
According to the scheme, the company will build a 90-ton electric arc furnace with steelmaking capacity of 700,000 tons per annum (Mtpa) to replace its existing electric arc furnace with the same capacity. Construction of the new furnace is scheduled to commence in August 2022 with production expected in April 2024.
