NBS: China's rebar production down by 12.9% YOY in Jan-May

According to the latest data released by National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), China produced about 21.87 million tons of rebar in May 2022, down by 12.3% year on year, and recorded a total output of about 97.43 million tons from January to May, a decrease of 12.9% against the same period last year.
In May, China's production of steel belts with medium thickness and width was about 17.70 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%; the cumulative output from January to May reached about 79.01 million tons, up by 1.6% from the corresponding period last year.
In May, China's wire rod (coiled bar) output recorded about 13.41 million tons, down by 11.1% year-on-year; the cumulative output from January to May was 58.59 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.1%.
