Nippon Steel Stainless Steel and Nippon Seisen increase contract prices of stainless steel wire rods

Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. announced on May 24 an increase in the contract price of stainless steel wire rods signed in May-June (delivered in June-July). In particular, the price of nickel-based stainless steel wire rod (basic steel grade SUS304) will be increased by JPY155,000/t (USD1,225/t), and that of chromium-based stainless steel wire rod (basic steel grade SUS430) will rise by JPY25,000/t (USD198/t). This is the eighth consecutive price increase for its nickel-series stainless steel wire rod since September-November 2020 contract, with a cumulative increase of JPY360,000/t (USD2,844/t).
Japan's largest stainless steel wire rod manufacturer, Nippon Seisen Co., Ltd. also recently announced an increase in the June-July contract price of stainless steel wire rods, with the cumulative increases of nickel-series and chromium-series stainless steel wire rods of JPY155,000/t (USD1,225/t) and JPY25,000/t (USD198/t) respectively.
