1 Market Highlights
The mainstream prices of Chinese copper cathode increased with fluctuation before middle April encouraged by stable demand from consumers, and decreased with fluctuation after middle April discouraged by soft demand caused by blocked logistics. Supported by firm production cost, most copper rod producers held their TCs firm in April. The mainstream TCs for imported copper concentrate went up in April due to soft demand and enough inventory. In view of price fluctuation for copper cathode prices, the mainstream copper concentrate prices followed suit and downstream clients purchased the material as scheduled. The copper scrap market witnessed increased prices before middle April driven by tight supply and strong demand, and saw declined prices after that due to soft demand. The prevailing prices for blister copper kept flat due to stable demand.
