CAAM: China's NEV sales up by 110% YOY in March

According to the latest data released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on April 11, auto production and sales in March 2022 were 2.24 million and 2.23 million vehicles respectively, down by 9.1% and 11.7% YoY and up by 23.4% and 28.4% MoM. Accumulated auto production and sales from January to March were 6.48 million and 6.51 million vehicles respectively, up by 2.0% and 0.2% YoY.
China's NEV production and sales in March were 465,000 and 484,000 vehicles respectively, both up by 110% YoY. In particular, the output and sales of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles were 89,000 and 88,000 vehicles, a significant increase of 160% and 140% YoY. NEV production and sales from January to March reached 1.29 million and 1.26 million vehicles, both increasing by 140%. Among them, battery electric vehicles output and sales reached 1.04 million and 1.01 million vehicles, both up by 130% YoY.
