Indonesian miner PT Timah's tin chemical sales increased by 51% YOY to 7,386 tonnes in 2021 while sales of its tin solder declined by 20% to 604 tonnes, the company's chief executive Achmad Ardianto told a parliamentary committee on Monday.
He said sales of tin solder were lower due to a shift in global demand, as industries no longer use tin wires for soldering, and added that the company is trying to shift its production to meet the latest soldering product specifications provided by global buyers.
