The capacity replacement program of Ulanhot Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. was made public by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Inner Mongolia on March 23. In accordance with relevant guidelines and implementation measures issued by the State Council, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Inner Mongolia commissioned the Metallurgical Industry Information Standard Research Institute to evaluate the submerged arc furnace renovation project of Ulanhot Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. and issued evaluation opinions in line with relevant policies. The public summons will last for 20 working days.
According to the replacement program, the company will shut down ironmaking capacity of 1.41 million tons per annum (Mtpa) and build capacity of 1.13 Mtpa, at a 1.25:1 ratio.
