USGS: Global rare earth metals production rises by 17% YOY in 2021

China maintained its world's largest REE producer status with 168,000 tonnes mined in 2021, an increase of 20% versus a year ago. China was followed by the United States (43,000 tonnes), Burma (26,000 tonnes) and Australia (22,000 tonnes).
