1. Market Highlights
Chinese antimony market ran steadily in December. Suppliers intended to hold prices firm due to tight supply of raw material while downstream consumers only purchased from hand to mouth with a wait-and-see attitude. The operating rate of Chinese antimony ingot plants stayed at low level, which resulted in insufficient production, and thus antimony ingot suppliers kept firm quotations. Downstream antimony trioxide plants were eager to deal, so some suppliers cut prices for sales, and the prices lacked upward movement. The ethylene glycol antimony market saw few deals with consumers purchasing on orders.
In the international market, some consumers added a little stock in early December considering the Christmas holiday and then left market in late December, leaving sparse deals and unchanged prices of antimony ingot and antimony trioxide amid tight supply.
