On December 17, the Ministry of Emergency Management continued to dispatch the rescue of the flood accident caused by coal stealing in Xiaoyi, Shanxi Province. The Security Committee of the State Council decided to supervise the investigation of the accident.
After two consecutive days of rescue, 20 trapped people had been lifted out of the mine and sent to medical treatment as of 6:00am on December 17, another 2 people were killed.
