WBMS: Global apparent demand for refined nickel exceeds production

The latest data from the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS) showed that the apparent demand for refined nickel in the world in January-September 2021 totaled 2,151,700 tons, about 108,500 tons more than the production of 2,043,200 tons
In January-September 2021, global nickel production was 1,973,300 tons, an increase of 207,000 tons year-on-year; Smelted/refined nickel production in China increased by 81,000 tons year on year, and the apparent demand increased by 211,000 tons year on year to 1,219,400 tons.
Global smelted/refined nickel production in September 2021 was 253,200 tons and demand was 275,300 tons.

But in 2020, the global refined nickel production exceeded apparent demand by 8,400 tons.In January-September 2021, global nickel production was 1,973,300 tons, an increase of 207,000 tons year-on-year; Smelted/refined nickel production in China increased by 81,000 tons year on year, and the apparent demand increased by 211,000 tons year on year to 1,219,400 tons.
