On 18 November 2021, the European Commission announced that, in response to the complaint lodged on 4 October 2021 by Graphite Cova GmbH, Showa Denko Carbon Holding GmbH and Tokai ErftCarbon GmbH, the European Commission launched an anti-subsidy investigation into Graphite Electrode Systems originating in China.
