Anshan magnesia companies upgrade 520 furnaces as planned in 2021

According to Anshan Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, the city actively pushes forward with the "carbon peak and neutrality" targets to further lower emission and to curb air pollution by requiring local steel and magnesia companies to upgrade their mills and furnaces to meet ultra-low emission targets and other new standards
The city launched the ultra-low emission upgrade for local iron and steel companies in 2020 with 53 upgrade projects completed. According to Anshan Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, 15 iron and steel companies confirmed a total of 173 upgrade projects, including 46 to be completed in 2021, 57 by 2022 and 70 by 2023 . So far, 32 projects were finished.
Magnesia producers in Anshan begin to fully implement new standards in 2021, and those failing to meet new standards will be forced to suspend production for rectification. This year, 65 magnesia companies upgraded a total of 520 furnaces as planned.
In addition, 56 coal-fired boilers failing to meet special emission standards in a steady manner were upgraded.
