China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and National Energy Administration (NEA) issued a notification on upgrading coal-fired power generation units across the country, requiring local governments to reasonably determine the upgrading targets and implementation paths, study and formulate the upgrading plans and submit the plans to NDRC and NEA before the end of November
According to the Upgrading Plans of National Coal-Fired Power Generation Units, China's average coal consumption of thermal power will decline to less than 300 grams of standard coal per kWh by 2025.
