Russian Railways sees 8.1% year-on-year increase in coal shipments in Jan-Sep period

Russian Railways shipped 277 million tonnes of coal in the January-September period, up by 8.1% from a year earlier, according to the company.
In the first nine months of this year, the total transportation volume of Russian Railways reached 956 million tons, up by 3.7% YoY, the data showed. Among them, coal transportation volume was the most, accounting for 29% of the company's total shipments.
From January to September, the coke transport volume of Russian Railways was 8.8 million tons, up by 6.2% from a year ago. Shipments of iron ore and manganese ore were 90.2 million tons, an increase of 0.7% compared with the same period of last year.
