NDRC issues notice on further deepening market-oriented reform of on-grid price of coal-fired power generation

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on October 11 issued a notice on further deepening the market-oriented reform of the on-grid price of coal-fired power generation. The fluctuation range of the market price of coal-fired power generation will be expanded from the current fluctuation range of no more than 10% and the fluctuation range of no more than 15% in principle to the fluctuation range of no more than 20% in principle, and the market transaction price of energy-intensive enterprises will not be subject to the fluctuation limit of 20%. Spot prices of electricity are not subject to the above range limits. This circular will take effect on October 15, 2021.
