South Africa terminates investigation on safeguard measures for imported structural steel products

On September 23, 2021, the WTO Safeguard Measures Committee released the safeguard measures notification submitted to it by the South African delegation. South Africa decided to terminate the investigation on safeguard measures for the import of U, I, H, L and T sections of iron or non-alloy steel and would not implement safeguard measures. The products involved are iron or non-alloy steel sections with a height of more than or equal to 80mm and not further processed except hot rolling, hot drawing or extrusion, which are under South African tax numbers 7216.31, 7216.32, 7216.33, 7216.40, 7216.50 and 7228.70.
