China's coke output down by 5% YOY in Aug

Latest data released by National Bureau of Statistics on September 15th indicated that China produced 39.67 million tons of coke in August 2021, down by 5% from August 2020 (with the year-on-year decreasing range expanding by 2.1 percentage points against the previous month) and 0.83% over 40 million tons in the same period in 2019.
The output in August 2021 was 880,000t or 2.27% higher than the figure of 38.79 million tons in July 2021, representing the first month-on-month increase since April 2021.
In the first eight months of 2021, the national coke output reached 319.58 million tons, rising by 2.5% YOY with the year-on-year increasing range shrinking by 0.7 percentage points compared with the first seven months.
