1. Market Highlights
Discouraged by the soft demand from downstream industries and decreased prices of raw materials like iron ore fines, CRC and HGI coil prices in Chinese mainstream markets went down by RMB50-100/t (USD8-15/t) in August. Anyhow, the production cut continued, which restricted prices from falling sharply to some degrees. After the export rebate was cancelled from August 1, export prices went up sharply at the beginning of this month. However, they fell down gradually in following days on lower prices at home and abroad.
In the international market, CRC and HGI coil prices in many Asian countries including Malaysia, Vietnam and India did not show big changes limited demand from downstream customers and reduced supply.
