Coal India's coal output up by 14.6% YoY in Aug

Coal India Ltd. announced that it produced 42.6 million tons of coal in August, up by 14.6% from 37.2 million tons in the same period last year while unchanged from last month.
In the first five months of this fiscal year (Apr-Aug), Coal India Ltd. produced a total of 209.2 million tons of coal, an increase of 7% compared with 195.5 million tons in the same period last year.
Data showed that in August, the company sold 48.6 million tons of coal, up by 9.5% from 44.4 million tons of last August while down by 3.8% MoM.
From April to August, coal sales of the company reached 259 million tons, up by 24.4% from 208.5 million tons in the same period last year.
Coal India Ltd.'s coal production accounts for more than 80% of the total coal output in India, and the company plans to produce 670 million tons of coal in this fiscal year.
