1. Market Highlights
Supported by the regulation on production cut, CRC and HGI coil prices in Chinese mainstream markets went up by around RMB500/t (USD77/t) and RMB400/t (USD62/t) respectively in July. Due to relatively higher profit, steel mills did not cut CRC and HGI coil production obviously in the month. However, the demand from downstream industries showed no signs of recovery at all. On rising prices in Chinese domestic market and cancellation of export rebate, CRC and HGI coil export prices went up this month.
In the international market, CRC and HGI coil prices in many Asian countries including Malaysia, Vietnam and India did not show big changes upon soft demand from downstream customers and high production cost.
