Canadian Teck Resources' metallurgical coal output increases by 23% YOY in H1

Canadian mining company Teck Resources' quarterly report shows that in the first half of 2021, the company's metallurgical coal output reached 12.3 million tons, an increase of 23% year-on-year. In the first half of the year, metallurgical coal sales arrived at 12.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 16%.
In the second quarter, Teck Resources' metallurgical coal output stood at 6.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 25%; sales volume arrived at 6.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 24%, of which about 2 million tons were sold to China.
The report shows that due to the early fire accidents, Teck Resources lowered its metallurgical coal sales target for the third quarter by 500,000-800,000 tons to 5.7-6.1 million tons. At the same time, Teck Resources set the metallurgical coal production target for the year 2021 at 25-26 million tons, which was lower than the previous target of 25.5-26.5 million tons.
