India launches first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on color coated steel from China

On July 26, 2021, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India announced that at the application of the Indian Iron and Steel Association, the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation was launched on color coated / prepainted flat products alloy non alloy steel originating or imported from China and the European Union. The products involved do not include plates with a thickness greater than or equal to 6mm. The dumping investigation period of this case is from October 1, 2019 to March 31, 2021 (18 months), and the injury investigation period is from April 2017 to March 2018, April 2018 to March 2019, April 2019 to March 2020 and the dumping investigation period. This case involves products under Indian customs codes 72107000, 72124000, 72259900 and 72269990, and some products under customs codes 72082790, 72085430, 72091590, 72091820, 72103090, 72104100, 72104900, 72106100, 72106900, 72107000, 72109010, 72109090, 72112350, 72112330, 72121010, 72123090, 72125090, 72126000, 72131090 and 72254013.
On June 29, 2016, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India announced that it would launch an anti-dumping investigation on color coated plates originating from or imported from China and the European Union upon the application submitted by two Indian companies. On October 20, 2016, India made a preliminary affirmative anti-dumping determination on the case and proposed to impose a temporary anti-dumping duty on the products involved in China and the EU. The tax amount is the difference between the CIF price and the minimum price, and the minimum price is USD849/t. On August 30, 2017, India made an affirmative final anti-dumping ruling on the case and proposed to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved imported from or originating from China and the European Union. The tax amount is the difference between the CIF price and the minimum price, and the minimum price is USD822/t. On October 17, 2017, India imposed a five-year anti-dumping duty on the products involved in China and the EU, ending on January 10, 2022.
