China's first 10-million-ton short flow iron and steel group comes into existence in Sichuan

On 27 July, Sichuan Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd. was unveiled in Chengdu. With steelmaking capacity of 10.49 million tons, the company becomes the largest short follow steelmaking group in China.
As the largest Chinese short follow steelmaking group, the company will record production capacity of 10.49 million tons of electric steel and annual production value of over RMB100 billion (USD15.37 billion) by the end of 2021. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the group will continue integrating short flow steelmaking enterprises in Southwest China for the goals of crude steel production capacity of over 20 million tons and industry chain scale of RMB200 billion (USD30.75 billion), striving for the most characteristic and advantageous green low-carbon short flow steelmaking enterprise group in China.
