China's railway department to ensure thermal coal supply to Henan

Major transportation corridors in Henan have been blocked due to heavy rainstorms, leading to short supply of thermal coal in many flood-hit areas. In face of the grim situation, China's railway department gave full play to the backbone role of its comprehensive transportation system by dispatching aid to restore rail lines and setting up a plan to ship 60 trains of thermal coal per day to Henan, in order to guarantee the post-disaster reconstruction and the restoration of livelihood.
Apart from Henan, the rail department also ramped up efforts to ensure thermal coal supply to other rain-ravaged regions like Chongqing, Qinghai, Jilin and Liaoning, making sure that power plants there hold inventory available for more than 7 days.
