At noon on July 22, Jiaozuo Wanfang disclosed a progress announcement regarding the temporary suspension of production affected by the natural disaster. The company stated that its production had partially resumed.
Prior to this, Jiaozuo Wanfang disclosed that due to days of rainfall that caused flash flood, the river near the company had accumulated deep water and the flood entered the company. The company was forced to suspend production on the afternoon of July 21.
Regarding the specific disaster situation, Jiaozuo Wanfang disclosed that the flood hit the north wall of the company, flooded the plant and cut off the power of the whole plant. In view of the process requirements for primary aluminum production, the electrolytic cells cannot be powered off for 24 hours, but some electrolytic cells affected by the flood have been out of power for too long and couldn't be restarted in time. The thermal power plant was less affected by the flood. The flood did not cause casualties in the company.
