Malaysia makes first anti-dumping sunset review final decision on prepainted, painted or color coated steel coils from China

On July 22, 2021, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia announced that it made the first anti-dumping sunset review final decision on prepainted, painted or color coated steel coils originating in or imported from China and Vietnam and decided to continue to levy anti-dumping duties on products involved in this case. Specifically, the tariff rate for all Chinese producers and exporters was 52.10%, and that for producers and exporters from Vietnam was 0-34.85%. This measure came into effect on July 20, 2021 and will end on July 19, 2026 with the valid term of five years.
On April 28, 2015, Malaysia launched an anti-dumping investigation on prepainted, painted or color coated steel coils originating in China and Vietnam. On January 22, 2016, Malaysia made an affirmative final anti-dumping judgment on prepainted, painted or color coated steel coils originating in China and Vietnam and decided to impose anti-dumping duties on products involved in this case from abovementioned countries. The tariff rate for all Chinese products was 52.10%, and that for Vietnam was 0-34.85%.
