Whitehaven's commercial coal down by nearly 40% in Apr-Jun

On July 15, Whitehaven Coal Ltd., a miner in Australia, announced that the company's commercial coal output in April-June this year fell sharply by 39.2% from a year ago due to geological problems at Narrabri coal mine.
According to the announcement, from April to June, the commercial coal output of the company was about 3.79 million tons, compared with about 6.24 million tons in the same period last year. The output of raw coal was about 5.44 million tons, down by 34% YOY.
From April to June, the coal sales of the company totaled about 4.51 million tons, down by 21% YOY.
In the fiscal year 2020-21 (up to June 2021), the total output of raw coal of the company was about 20.56 million tons, basically unchanged on a year-on-year basis; and the output of commercial coal was about 16.92 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7%. The sales volume of coal totaled about 19.80 million tons, down by 1% YOY.
